Italian restaurant Geneva
Luigia restaurants wanted to get involved in the life of the city by supporting each year an association that works in the social field and is linked to the family, young people, education or childhood. For this first year, it has chosen the association Scène Active, which fully meets its conditions since it proposes to reconnect young people who have dropped out of school or professional life to the working world.
Winner 2018: Scène Active
Every year, the Scène Active association welcomes 40 young people aged from 17 to 25, without any particular status or specific training, to enable them to follow an intensive training programme in the performing arts professions. Supervised by professionals, the workshops offer courses in the fields of scenography, costume design, music and sound, multimedia, cooking and theatre. Social workers are also present to help them hang up on a training project or job the following year. All of them actively participate in the creation of a play regardless of the workshop attended. At the end of the programme, 75% of young people hang up with full-time or part-time work, apprenticeship (CFC) or training in a higher education institution: ECG, applied arts, etc.
The Scène Active association receives public support but also needs private contributions.
